More than a Half-Century of Technical Ceramic Manufacturing Experience

Starting with little more than an expertise in technical ceramics and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, John Duke and Reldon Cooper founded Du-Co Ceramics Company in 1949. Working out of an abandoned slaughter house in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, the company's beginnings could not have been more humble.

Today, Du-Co is recognized as a world leader in the production of technical ceramics and precision ceramic insulators for a multitude of industrial applications. The company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that covers several acres, and its work force includes approximately 230 of the most experienced ceramic craftsmen anywhere.

While Du-Co utilizes high-quality raw materials, advanced manufacturing equipment and sophisticated production controls, the company's growth and success can be attributed to it's dedicated personnel and their commitment to time-honored business principles like integrity, reliability, quality, and customer service.

Serving a Broad Spectrum of Industries

It would be almost impossible to find a home or business in the United States that doesn't have at least one Du-Co ceramic insulator in it. There probably aren't many motor vehicles in the country without Du-Co insulators in them, either. Such is the depth and breadth of the company's product line.

The electrical and electronics industries traditionally have accounted for a large portion of Du-Co's business. Manufacturers of appliances, lighting, automobiles, and heating systems also are among the primary users of the company's technical ceramics products. Beyond that, the applications are diverse and the possibilities are endless.

Du-Co's precision ceramic insulators are at work in a myriad of places, from household appliances to industrial heaters to automotive cigarette lighters. Anywhere there exists a need for temperature or electrical resistance, a DU-CO insulator can be produced to do the job.
